Writing this is humbling and a bit emotional, but it is needed to be written. The platform is coming alive, albeit very slowly. So, I need to say thank you for joining the amazing Street Food community.
To give you an idea of where we started, it was on a vacation to South America. It was there that I had discovered my love for street food. The amazing empenadas of Argentina, the delicious pupusas of El Salvador. It was amazing. But, when I returned to Los Angeles, I thought to myself, "I wish there was a street food scene here in LA". Well, without even realizing it, we had one of the most thriving street food communities in the country.
It has been a dream of mine to bring the spotlight on to this. As I travelled around Los Angeles eating the street food, I thought how I could get this known to more people. It took nearly 6 years and it is finally happening. Though we are starting small, our goal is to bring legitimacy to the street food scene and give an alternative to the skyrocketing prices for restaurants that have become priced out for many people across the country. Moreover, we are supporting local businesses, families, and keeping money local.
I can go on, but as I write this I get emotional... Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you've read this far, I have just one ask of you: Share this platform with street food vendors. Have them sign up. Tell your friends to sign up as Foodies. As we get more members, more followers, more likes, etc... It will enable us to bring a full platform of functionality all for Street Food.
